I am 87 years old, and as I reflect on the later years of my life, I realize that aging is not simply a matter of growing older. It is a gradual shift in how we move through the world, how we make decisions, and how we understand our own limitations. There comes a moment when independence, once taken for granted, begins to feel fragile and uncertain.
A few months ago, I reached a stage where living completely alone started to feel increasingly difficult. Small mistakes began to happen more often in ways that concerned both me and my family.
